Where Did the Name Come From?
One of the questions we get asked most is, “Where did the name come from?” The name struck Michael as he was driving down Hwy 81, looking at all the Black Angus cattle along the way. Fat Pig fell in line behind the “Black Cow” because we feature a heavy meat selection, and the best tasting pigs are the fat ones!

Black Cow has a polished casual atmosphere, perfect for both fine dining or stopping by after work. We have an emphasis on locally sourced food and a scratch kitchen. Everything is made in house, from our hand cut fries to our homemade desserts. We source our ingredients locally and place an emphasis on supporting our local Farmers Market with our seasonally inspired menus.
All meat is cut on premise, and all meat is smoked by Executive Chef Mike Smyth. We smoke our own brisket, ribs and pulled pork. Our pork comes locally from Kuper Farms, our hamburgers are Certified Angus Beef and our steaks are all Prime Midwest. We also feature North Country Farms Beef out of Creston, Nebraska which is high in Omega 3, has zero antibiotics, zero hormones and no artificial ingredients.
We have a full bar, and a large outdoor patio in the summer. We have a Summer Sunset Music Series every Thursday night on the Patio.
